Contact the Payroll Department to ask general questions about current deductions listed on your paycheck.

There are statutory deductions required by law that are deducted from your paycheck. Examples of these are Federal taxes, NC State taxes, Social Security and Medicare Tax (also called FICA tax), garnishments, liens, and child support. All permanent employees are also required to contribute to a retirement program.

There are also voluntary deductions you can choose to have withheld from your paycheck. Examples of these include State Employee's Credit Union (SECU), State Employees' Association of NC (SEANC) dues, UNCW Sports Tickets, university gifts, and parking. Contact these specific departments or agencies to request these deductions.

The Human Resources Department located in the Administrative Annex building can assist you with changes to other benefits and deductions.
