SLAC, or the Seahawk Leadership Advisory Council, is the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement's newest group of student leaders! This council aims to provide peer to peer educational leadership experiences to fellow Seahawks. This group achieves this through:

November 2020: Recruitment for SLAC Co-Directors

  • Interviews will be held virtually the Week of December 7th, 2020

What are the requirements and responsibilities for SLAC Co-Director?

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 (cumulative) and good standing with UNCW
  • Commitment for an entire calendar year of 2021
  • Collaborate with SLAC Advisors and fellow Director, which make up the Leadership Team
  • Recruit and select 2021 Council members 
  • Attend weekly Leadership Team meetings and periodic one on ones with Advisor(s)
  • Plan and facilitate weekly SLAC meetings and periodic one on one meetings with council members
  • Plan and facilitate retreats and trainings, typically one retreat at the start of each semester with training embedded into the retreats and weekly meetings
  • Guide and support council members in planning Annual Seahawk Leadership Conference
  • Guide and support council members in designing and facilitating leadership workshops
  • Serve as the primary contact for the organization
  • Utilize Microsoft Teams and Outlook for communication
  • Maintain an encouraging and collaborative environment for all members of SLAC
