NEO Gone Virtual

Welcome to New Employee Orientation (NEO) Gone Virtual!

NEO Gone Virtual was developed in response to the impact COVID-19 is having on our campus. We created this program to make sure you, as a new employee, have access to the most important trainings and information you need to succeed at UNCW. This suite of training and resources are available to you virtually, meaning you can complete them now rather than later.

As a new employee, you are typically required to attend an all-day New Employee Orientation (NEO), which incorporates several important training sessions. NEO is also designed to answer any questions you have, introduce you to the perks and benefits of being a UNCW employee, and set you up for success in your new job! Unfortunately, because of social distancing, we are unable to host our typical in-person NEO at this time.

Instead, we ask that you complete NEO Gone Virtual, which includes required safety training, a virtual welcome seminar, connecting with other new employees, and accessing additional new employee resources. Once we return to campus, you will be invited to a modified version of New Employee Orientation - NEO Live (learn more below).

There are four required components to NEO Gone Virtual: (1) Online Safety Training, (2) New Employee Welcome Seminar, (3) New Employee Teams Community and (4) Additional Training and Resources. Click on the images below to learn more about each requirement and get started!

What to Expect When We Return

One of the best things about working at UNCW is the community! When we return to campus, you will begin to find your place in the community and make connections outside of your department. And there is no better place to start than at NEO Live.

NEO Live is a condensed version of New Employee Orientation that will include an opportunity for you to network with other new employees and to learn more about:

  • Our commitment to Inclusion and Diversity
  • UNCW departments that provide vital services to campus, including:
    • Campus Recreation
    • Randall Library
    • Office of University Relations
    • University Advancement
    • Printing & Postal Services
    • Campus Dining & One Card
    • IT and TAC + SkillPort
    • Recycling
    • Staff Senate
  • A variety of great perks for UNCW employees
  • Employee Leadership, Learning, and Engagement programs to help you grow at UNCW

Once we know more about our return to campus, we will reach out to you with additional NEO Live information, including its date, time and location.
