  • Course and Item Review

The Top 5 Reasons You May Want Your Instructional Materials Reviewed

Using the QM Rubric to focus on course design, instructional designers are available to evaluate online courses according to research-based standards.

    1.  I would like my course to be accessible and inclusive.

    2.  I would like to add variety to my course materials.

    3.  I am interested in aligning my course with my learning objectives.

    4.  I would like to ensure student engagement and look at online versus face to face.

    5.  I want to level up my course as I have taught it a few times and would like to make some revisions.

To schedule a course review, please email elearning@uncw.edu and a member of our team will contact you with additional instructions and discuss expectations and timelines.

    Peer Review Rubric

DEeL now offers a peer review rubric to assist chairs and department heads with peer reviews of online teaching practices. The goal of the Peer Online Teaching Observations Rubric is to provide the faculty with an opportunity to reflect upon teaching practices, establish purpose, and provide supportive feedback to foster engaging and active learning experiences for students in their online courses. Feedback garnered from these observations aims to facilitate collegial and collaborative discussions allowing the instructor to contribute to their own growth as an asynchronous online course instructor.

    Syllabus Review

An effective online syllabus has some different components from a face to face syllabus. You can have someone review your syllabus for your online course to make sure that it meets the needs of your online learners and clearly defines the expectations needed for an online syllabus. Email elearning@uncw.edu to have someone review your syllabus.

    Instructional Material Review

Would you like some tips on how to enhance your instructional materials for your course? Perhaps you'd like to make something text-based more visual or convert something static into being interactive? Maybe you tend to get the same questions about assignment instructions? DEeL's talented instructional designers are available to review and help you meet your goals.
