Distance Education and eLearning

Adapt 2020 Banner

After a wonderful break, it's time to look toward the Spring. Join us at ReCharge 2021 to focus on some of the elements for your online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses. Whether you are new to online or hybrid teaching or an experienced instructor, we all benefit from a firm grounding in the basics of online and hybrid design and facilitation. The Office of Distance Education and eLearning's (DEeL) ReCharge virtual conference is meant for those who wish to explore or revisit the foundational concepts of planning, course technology, assessment, and social presence as they relate to online and hybrid courses.

As an attendee, you'll get to:
  • Attend sessions and workshops that will let you walk away with something completed that you can use for immediate implementation in your course design for Spring and beyond.
  • Hear from other UNCW faculty about their experiences, course design, and facilitation.
  • Have the opportunity to work with our Instructional Designers and Technologists on your courses.
  • Build a community of online educators in our closing lightning talks.

ReCharge Schedule - Save the Date

This virtual conference will occur over four days (Tuesday, January 5th to Friday, January 8th). Each day will be organized around a particular focus: planning, course technology, assessment, and social presence.

The instructional sessions on each day will allow learners to experience an in-depth, interactive exploration of a topic and provide a working session for participants to begin crafting actionable course items. Looking to see examples of what other faculty are doing at UNCW? Each day will also include a panel discussion, where multiple UNCW faculty will showcase their expertise on a given topic and answer any questions you may have!
