MarineQuest Brings Sea Turtle Program to Area Classrooms

UNCW’s MarineQuest introduced their new Turtle Trash Collectors program to students in area elementary schools in January. The 2TC program, funded by the NOAA Marine Debris Program, is designed to teach children the importance of keeping beaches and oceans clean. more...

Amy Moody, Christy Howe Introduce Robotics at Bradley Creek

Eleven AIG students at Bradley Creek Elementary School designed robotics games for young children last fall in a program offered by Christy Howe in partnership with Amy Moody. In January, the fourth and fifth graders visited the Watson College to share their work with teachers at the P-12 STEM Education Conference. CESTEM Hosts Regional SeaPerch Competition

Forty-six teams from Southeastern North Carolina, Charlotte and Pembroke participated in the 2019 Regional Competition, hosted by CESTEM. The competition took place at the Dinah E. Gore Aquatics Center on the campus of Brunswick Community College on January 19. more...

40 Middle School Students Participate in Local Art Exhibit

Forty students from eight public and private middle schools in New Hanover County participated in an art exhibit and juried art show at Morning Glory Coffee House, held Nov. 29 to Dec. 8.
