Team First Book, NHHS Ninth Graders Engage Virgo Students in Reading

On March 27, Team First Book members Diane Blaschak and Linda Thomas, and 15 ninth graders from New Hanover High School visited D.C. Virgo, where they helped students select books to keep and read at home. Team First Book of New Hanover County coordinated their first “whole school” book donation program in partnership with Virgo media specialist Mike Webb and NHHS teacher Elizabeth Felts. CESTEM Hosts Regional Science Competitions at UNCW

Approximately 1,200 middle and high school students participated in the 2019 Wilmington Regional Science Olympiad on March 2. Nearly 150 students from 11 counties participated in the Southeast Regional Science and Engineering Fair held on campus in February. UNCW’s Center for Education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics sponsors the annual events. more...

Virgo Students Participate in Hamilton Challenge Pilot

Students at D.C. Virgo Preparatory Academy participated in a week-long Hamilton Challenge pilot in April. The program, sponsored by The Brian Hamilton Foundation in partnership with D.C.
