Challenging the Paradigm Conference – April 27-28

Thursday, December 01, 2022

UNCW’s Watson College will host the fourth annual UNCW/3C Challenging the Paradigm Conference April 27-28, 2023 on the UNCW campus. The theme of the event is “Partnerships for Sustainable Solutions to Overcome Barriers to Student Success.”

The conference brings together community college faculty and staff, university faculty and staff, and others who are interested in learning, growing, and challenging the paradigm within our community colleges. Each year, the focus is on the partnerships among community colleges, universities, and the community.

UNCW/3C is currently accepting proposals for presentations that align with this year’s theme. The organizers are particularly interested in hearing about existing programs and approaches to supporting students outside of the classroom and feature collaborative partnerships. Out-of-the-classroom support may include, but is not limited to, addressing housing and food insecurities, supporting students with families, and/or addressing other barriers/inequities to community college student success. Although they encourage presentations on out-of-classroom support, in-classroom support presentations are welcome as well.

Presentations should be approximately 45-50 minutes long with enough time for audience questions. Presenters are encouraged to engage the audience in interesting and creative ways.

To submit a proposal please visit Call for Proposals: Challenging the Paradigm. Proposals will be accepted through March 3, 2023.
