Students from Six High Schools attend Future Teacher Conference

Tuesday, April 02, 2019

Forty-nine students from area high schools participated in a Future Teacher Conference at the Watson College on March 27. The event, held each semester, gives students an opportunity to learn about the teaching profession and programs offered by the Watson College.

The full-day conference featured presentations, workshops and a tour of the Ed Lab and CMC Makerspace. The students also enjoyed a panel discussion with Watson Student Leaders and a complimentary lunch at Wagoner Hall.

Dean Heath, recruitment specialist for the Watson College, planned and coordinated the Future Teacher Conference, with support from Paulina Delgado and Melissa Newcity. Students from Ashley, Hoggard, Laney, New Hanover, Pender and Heide Trask high schools participated in the event.
