2019-20 Student Enrollment Begins at D.C. Virgo

Sunday, January 06, 2019

UNCW opened Wilmington’s first K-8, year-round public school at D.C. Virgo Preparatory Academy in July 2018. The school offers a family-friendly environment with a focus on the whole child and opportunities that extend to the UNCW campus and broader community.

The school’s new tagline is: D.C. Virgo, where families come to school together.

D.C. Virgo currently serves 228 students, and hopes to grow enrollment to 270 for next year. Recruitment efforts are focused on incoming kindergarteners and rising sixth graders with a goal of serving 25 students in grades K-5, and 50 students per grade in middle school.

The Watson College is pleased to share a new video created by UNCW’s media production team to promote the school to prospective students and families:

Enrollment for the 2019-20 school year is now open!  Parents of existing students can complete an intent to return at the school. New families can pick up enrollment applications at D.C. Virgo or print them from the website.

Priority will be given to students currently attending Dorothy B. Johnson or Howe Pre-K Centers, and Forest Hills Global Elementary, Rachel Freeman School of Engineering, Snipes Academy of Arts and Design, Williston Middle School and Wrightsboro Elementary.
