WCE’s CIS Program Ranked in Nation’s Top Ten

Sunday, November 05, 2017

WCE’s Master of Education in Curriculum, Instruction and Supervision has been ranked 10th in the nation and 1st among North Carolina Universities on the website Top Master’s in Education. The CIS master’s program, which is offered entirely online, prepares graduates to lead the development of curriculum and instructional programs at the school or district level.

Accreditation, student experiences, relevant coursework, student teaching experience, affordability and graduation rates, as well as information from government and rating organizations, were criteria considered by Top Master’s in Education in identifying programs to recognize.

“Our CIS program prepares outstanding educational mentors, coaches and leaders,” said Van Dempsey, dean of the Watson College of Education. “It is a pleasure and well-deserved honor to have our outstanding students and faculty and the strength of our program acknowledged.”

The CIS ranking was announced in a UNCW homepage story on Oct. 16.
