New Videos Promote WCE’s AIG, M.S.A. Programs

Friday, September 09, 2016

The Watson College is pleased to share two new videos developed to promote graduate programs offered by the college. The videos feature WCE faculty and program coordinators Angela Housand and Bill Sterrett, with testimonials from graduate students and alumni.

AIG Programs

The Watson College offers add-on licensure and a Master of Education with specialization in Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG). Both programs have been designed with working teachers in mind. The AIG add-on licensure is comprised of a series of courses using a seven-week intensive model: each course is half the length of a traditional semester, which allows participants to complete the requirements for the AIG add-on licensure in one regularly scheduled academic year. The courses are offered online and the “in-place” practicum experience can often be completed at the school where the teacher is employed.

For information on AIG add-on licensure, visit www.uncw.edu/ed/aig/licensure.html.

School Administration Programs

The Master of School Administration degree and add-on licensure programs prepare educators to become K-12 school principals. Program materials and experiences focus on school leadership, organizational theory, innovation and best practices. Students work together to apply theories to real situations in schools. The M.S.A. is offered fully online through interactive and engaging formats. From personalized feedback on discussion boards to interacting with professors and guest speakers via webinars, students can feel connected as they prepare to become school administrators.
