Graduate Open House Held at the Watson College

Tuesday, November 03, 2015

UNCW’s Graduate School hosted an Open House on Oct. 29 to showcase programs offered at the master’s and doctoral level.

More than 100 prospective students attended the event, which was held in the atrium of the Watson College of Education building.

Attendees were greeted by four Watson Student Leaders and six graduate school volunteers. Forty UNCW faculty members and graduate students were on hand to answer questions about traditional and online programs offered by the university. Representatives from financial aid and the Military Resource Center were also available to answer questions and provide information on programs such as Troops to Teachers.

Kimberly Harris, administrative specialist in UNCW’s Graduate School, coordinated the open house event.

“Faculty and current graduate student participation was the key to the success of our first Graduate School Open House,” Harris said.  “Almost 100 percent of those attending indicated that the most valuable part of their experience was speaking face-to-face with faculty members and current graduate students.”

UNCW currently offers two doctoral and 29 master’s degree programs, in addition to education add-on licensure programs and certificates in post-baccalaureate and post-master’s studies.
