We're excited to share a wave of updates designed to make managing events, news, profiles and social media faster, easier and more intuitive. From enhanced event filters to new profile options and handy how-tos, these improvements give your content a sharper, more professional edge.
Smarter Event Filters
Finding the right events just got easier. Our enhanced event filtering now shows the number of filters you've selected in the dropdown box on UNCW's Events page. Plus, Wavelink RSS feeds can now be filtered by multiple criteria, including audience, category, department, and area. These filters apply across the entire feed, ensuring your content reaches the right audience. Please let us know if you would like to add a Wavelink RSS feed or filter.
News Features That Shine
Exciting news features are on the horizon. Starting Oct. 2, you'll be able to add faculty and staff profiles directly below your news articles. This is a great way to highlight team members, with flexible layout options for profiles with or without photos.
We've also streamlined the process of adding news categories and yearly archives to your sidebar in News. Select "two column" for your categories or post page, then choose "My Categories" or "Yearly Archives" from the dropdown. These dynamic links automatically update with your content, saving you time and eliminating the need for manual updates.
Coming Soon: Custom Profile Fields
Based on your feedback, we're introducing a custom field for our profile list component. On Oct. 2, you will be able to add an optional topic, such as "Call Me For" or "Research Interests," to the component. From there, each profile will have a 50-character limit of keywords you can add. If a field is left blank, it won't display, keeping your profiles clean and consistent.
Social Media Sticky Buttons
On Oct. 2, we're adding Bluesky as a new social media sticky option for your site or page. Remember, you can leverage "Folder Options" to apply sticky buttons across all your pages with a single change, eliminating the need to update each page individually. Submit a ticket to get started.
Key Takeaways
These updates are designed to make your web content management faster, easier and more powerful. Explore the new features, try them out and share your feedback to help us make future enhancements even better.
