Driven by an unwavering passion to make a difference, Melanie Garces ’25 chose to major in criminology. As a first-generation college student, she aims to pursue a master's degree in social work to uplift underrepresented individuals facing adversities. Garces is this year's recipient of the Rachel Freeman Service Leadership Award, presented to a graduating senior who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to service, social justice, and collaboration for social change.
