Fall Semester Volunteer Opportunities

Fall Semester Volunteer Opportunities!

September:

September’s volunteer day is exploring The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina! It’s a wonderful opportunity to help with a variety of tasks depending on the needs of the day, but can include the tasks below:

  • Sorting bulk produce into family–size bags.
  • Sorting donations from retail stores such as Food Lion and Harris Teeter.
  • Cleaning and bagging drink pouches.
  • Sorting and inspecting food drive donations from individuals and corporations.
  • Other activities may be available according to partner and community needs.

This event will be held on September 25th from 1:00 pm-4: 00 pm. To view additional details, please sign up through the Dare to Learn Academy!

October:

October’s volunteer day is partnered once more with the Vintage Values Retail Stores! Vintage Values supports the Domestic Violence and Shelter in Wilmington, and with the number of donations they receive, volunteers are essential to supporting the staff and they greatly appreciate any help provided!

The event's date is October 22nd from 10:00 am-1:00 pm, and Vintage Values has requested assistance at three of their stores – 609 Castle Street, 5226 S College Road, and 413 South College Road. You can sign up for a specific store shift and find additional details in the Dare to Learn Academy

November:

November’s Volunteer Day is partnered with The North Carolina Diaper Bank – Lower Cape Fear! The Diaper Bank is a wonderful organization that helps supply the community with several products such as children’s diapers, menstrual products, adult diapers, and more and are reliant on volunteers to help them package these products for the community.

The event’s date is November 12th from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. To view additional details and sign up, please do so in the Dare to Learn Academy
