STEM SENC has awarded Education Mini-Grants to 11 teachers in the region to support the implementation of innovative STEM programs for students.
The mini-grants provide $400 for classroom supplies and equipment, along with a teacher stipend. Awards were open to K–12 teachers in schools located in STEM SENC–supported counties. To be considered, applicants proposed projects designed to actively engage students, deliver lasting educational benefits and align with clearly defined learning goals. Priority was given to projects that broaden access to STEM learning opportunities.
As part of the application process, teachers developed a STEM lesson plan and accompanying video so the lessons can be shared and adapted by educators across the region.

In addition to grant funding, recipients received free registration to CESTEM’s PK–12 Education Conference, Soar into STEM, which will be held at the Watson College on June 11.
