Each year, The Public School Forum of North Carolina gathers hundreds of business, education and government leaders in Raleigh to discuss the most pressing education issues facing North Carolina that will drive policy debate in the upcoming legislative session. The annual Eggs & Issues Breakfast also debuts the Public School Forum’s Top Education Issues.
The UNCW Watson College of Education Professional Development System School-University Partnership, in partnership with The Public School Forum of North Carolina, will host a 2025 Regional Eggs & Issues Breakfast on Thursday, April 17th, from 8:00-11:00AM at UNCW’s Warwick Center.
Dr. Lauren Fox, Senior Director of Policy & Research for the Forum, will share NC’s Top Education Issues. The program will highlight several regional schools and outstanding district initiatives. And regional leaders will engage in a panel discussion focused on Wellness and Resilience in Our Schools and Communities, as well as the implications of each issue on education specifically in Southeastern North Carolina. Panelists are:
- Hannah Moon, Southeast Regional Teacher of the Year
- J’Vanete Becton Skiba, Director, New Hanover County Resiliency Taskforce
- Jaime King, Superintendent, Sampson County Schools
- Angela Mendell, Program Manager, NC Center for Resilience & Learning
