Forbes has ranked WCE’s online elementary education program in the Top 10 nationally on their list of Best Online Elementary Degrees Of 2023. The list was published in July.

“Although external recognition is not necessary to affirm our dedication to our students and community, we are certainly pleased that Forbes has acknowledged our online elementary program,” said Martin Wasserberg, WCE associate professor and program coordinator. “The program provides the flexibility that many students need, while maintaining a commitment to high level academics and consistent real world experience in elementary classrooms.”

The schools were ranked based on credibility, affordability, student outcomes, student experience and the application process. UNCW was recognized specifically for its relatively low student-to-faculty ratio, high overall graduation rate and high retention rate. WCE’s 10 elementary education concentrations, including special education, behavioral studies and English as a second language, and minors offered in leadership studies and online teaching and learning were also mentioned.
