From poetry to dance, the upcoming performances promise to engage, inspire, and leave a lasting impression on attendees.

Kicking off the remaining shows is the highly anticipated Port City Poetry Jam featuring Dasan Ahanu. Set to take place on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 7:30 PM (ET) in the Kenan Auditorium, this event is a collaboration with Wilmington’s Black Arts Alliance. Ahanu, North Carolina’s esteemed 2023 Piedmont Poet Laureate, will headline the evening, showcasing his remarkable talent as a poet, performer, educator, and community organizer. With over two decades of experience in the arts and social justice movements, Ahanu's performance promises to be a powerful celebration of storytelling and resilience.

Following closely is the vibrant and dynamic Wilmington Dance Festival, scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2024, at 7:30 PM (ET). Held at the Kenan Auditorium, this festival serves as a platform for showcasing a diverse range of dance styles, from ballet and contemporary to hip-hop and African dance. Established in 2002, the festival has become a beloved fixture in the Wilmington arts community, attracting both local talents and nationally recognized collaborators. Beyond performances, attendees can also participate in workshops and masterclasses, making it an inclusive and enriching experience for dancers of all ages and skill levels.

Rounding out the series is the eagerly awaited performance by Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 7:30 PM (ET). This New York-based dance company is renowned for its unique blend of classical ballet, humor, and satire. Featuring an all-male ensemble that performs in drag, the Trocks delight audiences with their playful take on traditional gender roles and their exaggerated technique. Founded in 1974, the Trocks have garnered international acclaim for their irreverent approach to classical ballet, reminding us all to embrace the joy and humor in artistic expression.

As the Kenan Presents series continues to unfold, audiences are invited to immerse themselves in a world of creativity, expression, and artistic innovation. With a lineup that celebrates diversity, talent, and the transformative power of the arts, these remaining shows promise to leave a lasting impact on all who attend.
