UNCW Online Programs Rank Among Nation's Best

UNCW’s online programs are ranked among the nation’s best, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Online Programs. 

Newly ranked in 2026, UNCW placed #12 in Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs for Veterans. The university also ranked #35 (tied) in Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs, up 30 spots from last year. 

In addition to online master's in nursing, UNCW ranked #15 (tied) in Best Online Bachelor’s Programs and #227 (tied) in Best Online Master’s in MBA Programs. Up six spots from last year, the university is ranked #193 (tied) in Best Online Master’s in Education Programs. 

“Our students pursue higher education along many different paths,” said Chancellor Aswani Volety. “This recognition reflects UNCW’s focus on meeting students where they are and providing the flexibility and support they need to succeed.” 

With more than 60 programs offered in a variety of fields, UNCW’s online programs receive the same accreditation as campus programs and are taught by the same talented and dedicated faculty.

The 2026 Best Online Programs Report assessed more than 1,800 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs using metrics specific to online learning. U.S. News & World Report evaluated online programs based on a variety of factors, such as student engagement, faculty credentials and services and technologies.
