Based on forecasts from the National Weather Service Wilmington, UNCW will remain on a normal operating schedule for Monday, Sept. 29. No classes or campus events are cancelled at this time.
Rainy, windy weather may affect the region Monday and Tuesday, but tropical storm conditions are expected to remain offshore. Rip currents will affect area beaches beginning today. Please pay close attention to the flags posted along the beach. These flags serve as indicators of current water conditions, including the presence of strong currents and other risks. The university will keep watch on the weather and send an update by 12 p.m. (noon), Monday, Sept. 29, unless conditions warrant earlier outreach.
Students, faculty and staff should stay alert and check their email, text messages, UNCW Mobile app, SafeZone app and the UNCW Alert website for updates. Parents and the public can receive emergency notifications by downloading the UNCW Mobile app.
