Commercial by UNCW Alum to Air During Super Bowl

UNC Wilmington alumnus Dylan Bradshaw ’19 won the 2025 Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest with the commercial Abduction

Bradshaw, a film and commercial director based in Los Angeles, California, graduated with a bachelor’s in film studies in 2019. He created the commercial in collaboration with his best friend Nate Norell. The commercial features an alien attempting to steal a bag of Doritos from a person studying UFOs. 

"We can’t wait for millions of people to watch Abduction during the Super Bowl on Sunday. Knowing that the fans voted for it to play on one of the biggest advertising stages makes it that much better. I am so grateful for my time at UNCW and my professors in the film studies program for giving me the confidence to go after my dreams – I wouldn’t be here without them!”

Abduction was one of 2,000 submissions to the contest. It was selected by a panel as a top three finalist before being voted on by the public. 

Since graduation, Bradshaw has worked with several renowned figures and brands such as Tom Brady, Terry Crews, Charli D’Amelio, CeraVe and Credit Karma. With a passion for storytelling, the 27-year-old draws inspiration from Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. 

“Our mission in the UNCW Department of Film Studies is to prepare students to participate in a world increasingly shaped by moving pictures. We're so excited that Dylan has taken that idea and run with it like this,” said Tim Palmer, department chair. “This is a brilliant accomplishment from one of our most talented recent alums.  We're so proud to foster students' creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Now it'll be a proper UNCW Super Bowl!” 

In addition to a $1 million prize, the commercial will air during Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9.  Over 100 million viewers are expected to tune in to the game, which will broadcast nationally on Fox.
