First-year students admitted to the University of North Carolina Wilmington for the fall semester will have more time to submit their enrollment deposit. The Office of Admissions moved the deadline from May 1 to May 15, 2024, the university announced today.
The decision recognizes the difficulties that many students and families have been facing due to processing delays associated with recent changes in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
“UNCW is firmly focused on its commitment to putting students first, and this shift in our deadline offers future Seahawks and their families more time to evaluate their financial aid options,” said Dr. Lauren Franklin, director of admissions. “UNCW’s Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is working quickly and carefully to prepare financial aid notifications, which we hope to complete in early April.”
The university offers many resources to assist students and their families with the college enrollment process.
- Admissions and Financial Aid counselors can meet virtually, on the phone, or in-person if students and their families will be attending a campus visit.
