These initiatives led to significant student enrollment increases; expanded external research funding; new scholarship opportunities for faculty; and additional support from donors to support student success.

“I am honored to have been selected as incoming dean of the Watson College of Education,” said Dr. Linderholm. “Watson College has a long tradition of providing high-quality, innovative programming that promotes student success. I look forward to continuing that tradition by forging new collaborations with school, community and campus partners.”

Dr. Linderholm holds a doctoral degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She also achieved a Master of Arts in Psychology from California State University Sacramento, and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas. She has held positions in higher education since 2000.

The Watson College of Education, originally established in 1979 as the School of Education, offers high-quality programs, extensive applied learning opportunities and collaborative learning environments, leading to highly qualified graduates in education or education-related fields. The college has over 250 faculty and staff, and three academic departments: Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, Literacy, and Special Education, Department of Educational Leadership, and the Department of Instructional Technology, Foundations and Secondary Education.

As dean, Dr. Linderholm will provide leadership as the college’s chief academic and administrative officer.
