Camden Ege, the program coordinator in the UNCW Office of Military Affairs, has been elected to the National Association of Veterans' Program Administrators Board of Directors (NAVPA) as a Region III delegate. He will also serve as the Internal Affairs Chair.

The board works with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, Department of Education, and Department of Defense to promote the improvement and development of educational opportunities for active-duty personnel, veterans and their dependents.

As a member of the NAVPA Board of Directors, Ege will be in direct contact with these federal agencies, as well as providing input to the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate Veterans Affairs Committees, the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, the National Association of College and University Business Officers and other national and regional professional organizations concerning NAVPA's mission. This is Ege's second year on the board but his first time serving as a UNCW and Region III representative. He will serve a one-year term.

"I am excited to continue my work with NAVPA and to represent UNCW at a national level. I look forward to collaborating with fellow Board members and leveraging my expertise to support our military-affiliated students," said Ege. "Through my personal and professional experiences, I understand this student population's unique challenges and aspirations."

Ege’s goal is to foster collaboration between NAVPA and educational institutions to provide support and advocate for policies catering to military-affiliated students' specific needs, he said.

"By working towards a seamless transition from military service to academic success, I hope to contribute to an environment where every veteran and military-connected student can thrive in their educational journey,"
