University Monitoring Weather Conditions for Family Weekend

UNCW is closely monitoring weather forecasts for Family Weekend, Sept. 22-24. The National Weather Service indicates windy and rainy conditions are possible. Many Family Weekend events are scheduled to proceed as planned.  

The university may adjust event schedules, depending on weather conditions. Updates will be posted on the Family Weekend website, distributed by sponsoring offices via email as needed and shared during check-in at the Burney Center on Friday and Saturday.  

We recommend packing your rain jacket and umbrella. Events are scheduled to take place rain or shine, unless otherwise noted. Refunds will not be provided for inclement weather. 

Tropical weather conditions in the Atlantic Ocean will also increase the risk of rip currents, beginning today, Thursday, Sept. 21. Please be mindful of your safety when visiting area beaches.
