UNCW faculty, staff, students and community members are invited to join the celebration by signing up to be a guest reader. Volunteers are needed to help students learn from and enjoy a story created by a Black author and/or Black illustrator every weekday in February. Both in-person and virtual options are available.

On the form, you will provide contact information, choose the day/time of your in-person or virtual storytime, and the book you’d like to read. If you're interested in book suggestions, start here. After you’ve submitted the form, Virgo will reach out to confirm.  

Pre-recordings are also welcome! If you would prefer, you may participate remotely by pre-recording a video of yourself reading your chosen book and email it so that it can be shared with Virgo students. The school will create a website for students and teachers to access with all the videos. To participate in this way, you do not need to complete the form. Please record your video at your convenience and email it to hebertj@dcvirgo.com.
