UNCW Expands Vaccination Clinic to Include CFCC Students, Greater Wilmington Community
Monday, May 03, 2021
UNCW and Cape Fear Community College are partnering to increase access to vaccines for CFCC students. The university is also opening its COVID-19 campus vaccination clinic to the greater Wilmington community.
“We value the health of the community within which we live, and we hope that opening up our clinic will increase the access and availability of vaccines,” said Katrin Wesner-Harts, interim associate vice chancellor for student affairs. “UNCW has a longstanding relationship with CFCC; many of our community members interact with each other, and every vaccine we can give helps to make Wilmington, and therefore our campuses, safer.”
The community college is pleased to partner with UNCW for the benefit of the students and the community, said Sonya Johnson, CFCC executive director of marketing and community relations.
“Over the past year, our partnership has included working together to create healthier campus communities. UNCW’s outreach to CFCC students for vaccinations is greatly appreciated,” Johnson said.
The university previously opened the clinic to eligible UNCW students, faculty, staff, retirees and their families, who also are still welcome and encouraged to participate.
Officials will announce the vaccination clinic dates via email, on the university homepage and Best for the Nest website. Send questions about the clinic to coronavirus@uncw.edu.
