UNCW MarineQuest Offering In-Person Summer Commuter Programs

MarineQuest, the official marine science outreach program for UNCW, the Watson College of Education and the Center for Marine Science, invites youth to discover the world of modern marine science while exploring beautiful coastal habitats with their summer camps.

Participants will have the opportunity to conduct field-based scientific investigations at the marsh, beach, fouling docks and/or on a research vessel; develop tools to become a modern marine scientist while having fun kayaking, snorkeling or boogie boarding while developing leadership potential through engaging in coastal service projects.

Program offerings this summer include:

  • Commuter Programs: 
    Ages 4 to 9(Half-Day) programs begin at 8 a.m.; pick up at 11:45 a.m.
    Ages 7 to 9: (Junior Full-Day) programs begin at 8 a.m.; pick up at 3:45 p.m.
    Ages 10 to 17: (Full-Day) programs begin at 8 a.m.; pick up at 3:45 p.m.

  • Online Program – a unique summer enrichment program for high school-age students consisting of virtual interactive lessons, group collaborative work and at-home hands-on experiments to immerse participants in the world of marine science.
