For the second year in a row, UNCW has matched its highest Graduation Success Rate since the metric was introduced by the NCAA 16 years ago.
 
According to figures released early Tuesday by the organization, UNCW's 19 intercollegiate teams achieved a GSR of 90 percent. It matches the school's high-water GSR rate in 2008, 2009 and 2019.
 
"We continue to applaud the academic commitment of our student-athletes," said Jimmy Bass, UNCW's 10-year athletic director. "We congratulate all of our outstanding student-athletes, their coaches and our academic support staff for exemplary work in the classroom."
 
The GSR was developed by the NCAA as part of its academic reform initiative to more accurately assess the academic success of student-athletes.
