Monday, May 11, 2020

UNCW is ranked 2nd nationally on a list of 2020 Best Online R.N. to B.S.N. Programs compiled by the website RegisteredNursing.org. The university is one of four UNC System programs in the top 10.

While many schools have online degree programs, rankings like this allow us to highlight the online accelerated format of the R.N.-to-B.S.N. program, which offers students the flexibility to continue working while earning their degree,” said Charles Hardy, founding dean of the College of Health and Human Services. “We are preparing our students to make positive and meaningful impacts on the health and quality of life of residents in the state of North Carolina and beyond.

The rankings are based on a number of factors, including graduation rate, affordability, acceptance rate and the number and variety of nursing programs offered.

Elevated to “Doctoral Universities: High Research Activity” in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education in 2018, UNCW is ranked 92nd on the U.S. News & World Report list of Top 100 Public National Universities for 2020. The university also ranks 8th nationally on the U.S. News list of 2020 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs and is represented on the publication’s list of 2021 Best Graduate Schools.

UNCW’s Strategic Plan emphasizes providing students with an accessible, affordable education, and distance education programs play a key role in accomplishing that goal.
