UNCW Director of Athletics Jimmy Bass will help provide direction on a national level to all NCAA Division I men’s golf teams as a member of the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee.
 
Bass was selected to the seven-member committee this week and will serve through August of 2023. The committee is responsible FOR the selection and seeding of the competing golf teams in the NCAA Regional Championships. Bass will also attend annual meetings with the Golf Coaches Association of America regarding NCAA Championship format, scoring, media, and factors influencing NCAA men's golf.

Bass is the only athletic director on the committee and joins four head coaches, one senior associate athletic director and one conference representative in the advisory group. A total of 292 schools compete in NCAA Division I men’s golf.
