UNCW Presents: 2019-20 Lineup of Popular Performance Series Revealed

Thursday, May 30, 2019

From the riveting documentary play of women activists facing life-threatening obstacles to a theater production of the beloved classic Charlotte's Web, the 28th season of UNCW Presents will truly have something for everyone.

The performance season kicks off on Sept. 19 with Ragamala Dance Company: Sacred Earth and concludes on April 16 with musical tributes to composers Beethoven and Philip Glass by pianist Simone Dinnerstein and cellist Matt Haimovitz.

The 2019-20 season lineup was announced at a farewell reception for Kristen Brogdon on May 29 in Kenan Auditorium. Brogdon, current director of the Office of the Arts and Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Community Engagement, is leaving UNCW in June to become director of programming at Northrop at the University of Minnesota. During her four year tenure at UNCW, she helped establish the popular Lumina Festival of the Arts and Seahawk FAM series.

“Kristen was my first hire at UNCW and one I take great pride in,” said Provost Marilyn Sheerer. “I know we are all impressed at the quality and diversity of programming courtesy of her.”

Tickets and season subscription packages are available at the Kenan Box Office Monday through Thursday from noon to 4 p.m.; by phone at 910.962.3500 or 800.732.3643; or online. For more information, visit
