7:35 p.m. --- UNCW continues to monitor Hurricane Florence in collaboration with the National Weather Service and state and local agencies. While forecasts indicate it is still too early to determine the storm’s exact track and its potential impact for our immediate area, now is a good time to review campus emergency procedures and your personal preparation plan.

Rough seas, gusty winds and an increased risk of rip currents are expected along our local coastline as the system moves toward the East Coast.

As soon as there is more certainty about Florence’s path and potential impact, we will convey updates via campus email, the UNCW homepage, and the university’s Facebook and Twitter feeds.
