Nominations for J. Marshall Crews Distinguished Faculty Award Open Through Aug. 1
Thursday, May 17, 2018
For sixteen years, the UNCW Alumni Association has recognized outstanding faculty members while honoring a leader who helped shape and guide Wilmington College’s growth into UNCW.
The J. Marshall Crews Distinguished Faculty Award honors a faculty member who exhibits leadership in the areas of service; student support; community service and outreach efforts.
During his 33-year career at Wilmington College and UNCW, Crews was a professor of mathematics and served as university registrar, academic dean, director of admissions and dean of students. He is the author of From These Beginnings, a history of Wilmington College from 1947 to 1969. A campus street and scholarship are named for him. He passed away in 2010.
Members of the campus and community may submit nominations now through Aug. 1. The award, along with a $500 stipend, will be presented to the winner at the fall faculty meeting in September.
