Elaine Doell has begun work at UNCW as assistant vice chancellor for human resources. In that role, she serves as operations manager for the Office of Human Resources. She reports to Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Liz Grimes.

“Elaine brings with her 30 years of human resources experience, half of it in higher education,” Grimes said. “She began work on March 19 and is already an asset to our campus.”

Doell came to UNCW from East Carolina University, where she was an advanced classification and compensation consultant. Prior to that, she served as chief human resources officer for Cape Fear Community College and served as assistant director and then director of HR at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.

She earned her an M.B.A. from Plymouth State and has SHRM-SCP professional certification, as well as extensive professional training in the HR field.
