WEATHER ALERT: Campus Operations and Classes to Proceed as Scheduled on Monday, Sept. 11
Sunday, September 10, 2017
After evaluating conditions and analyzing the National Weather Service forecast for our area, university officials have confirmed that campus operations and classes will proceed as scheduled tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 11).
However, as always, you must make the best decision for you personally. Your safety is our primary concern, but you know your circumstances better than anyone. Students who do not feel comfortable traveling to or from campus should contact their instructors regarding potential absences. Faculty and staff should consult the Adverse Weather Policy (Condition 1) to determine their best personal course of action.
Forecasts indicate moderate amounts of wind and rain between early Monday morning and Tuesday morning. Please remain cautious. Rip current hazards are high and there is a possibility of localized flooding. Do not attempt to drive through standing water and do not go into any storm water runoff, which could be contaminated or present other hazards. Be cautious in walking and driving around campus as there may be debris, slick surfaces, and/or areas of flooding.
Throughout this weather event, please continue to monitor local weather reports, the UNCW homepage, Facebook, and Twitter for the latest information.
Thank you for your continued attention.
