New UNCW women’s basketball coach Karen Barefoot promised a “teal-collar work ethic” and lots of “high-fives and floor burns” as she laid out plans for the Seahawk women during a high-energy introductory press conference May 17. Barefoot comes to UNCW from Old Dominion University, where she compiled a record that included five winning seasons and three postseason appearances.
