The 2017 Colonial Athletic Association champion UNCW men’s basketball team is days away from finding out who they face next in the “Big Dance.”

All Seahawk fans are invited to Trask Coliseum for a "Selection Sunday" celebration on March 12. The doors will open at 4:15 p.m. The team will be formally introduced at 5:15 and a live broadcast of the CBS Selection Show begins at 5:30. This event is open to the public.

Planned activities include performances by the UNCW pep band, cheerleaders and dance team. A “selfie station” with the regular season and tournament championship trophies will be set up. Team autographs, posters and concessions will available for purchase as well.

The Seahawks won their sixth CAA title on Monday evening with a 78-69 victory over the College of Charleston.

This year marks the sixth NCAA appearance and ninth postseason trip for the Seahawks. UNCW previously competed in the NCAA Tournament in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2016.
