All employees - faculty, staff and students - can review and/or make changes to their W-4 federal or NC-4 state withholdings at anytime, anywhere there is internet access. Access is only available through a secure login.
W-4 Federal and NC-4 State Withholdings
Log into mySeaport then click on SeaNet. Tax Forms are located on the Employee tab. Click on the appropriate form to submit an update.
Updates to W-4 federal and NC-4 state withholdings are entered with an effective date and each employee will receive an immediate verification of all changes. Signed, paper copies of W-4 forms or NC-4 forms are no longer required in the Payroll Department.
The Payroll Department provides all tax documentation needed for an employee to file the necessary tax returns to the United States Federal Government (Internal Revenue Service) and the North Carolina State Government (Department of Revenue).
W-2 Forms
A W-2 Wage and Tax Statement lists taxable gross wages and taxes withheld for each calendar year. For current, active employees who have consented to receive their W-2 form online, these forms are available online by mid-January. The online version does not include the instructions that appear on the back of a printed W-2.
For current employees who have not consented to receive their W-2 form online and all former employees, these forms are mailed to the primary address on file by the Jan. 31 deadline as mandated by the Internal Revenue Service. If you do not receive your W-2 by Feb. 15 and cannot access SeaNet, you can request a duplicate by emailing the Payroll Department. The duplicate will be mailed within two weeks.
A 1042-S Foreign Person's US Source Income Subject to Withholding is used to report amounts paid to foreign persons.
