ID Scheme and Codes

The Section ID Scheme shows students the ID numbers their classes are categorized under. This can help students when they are looking to research or add courses to their schedule.

It is important that you are aware of the times and days that the class meets, the delivery method, and any special characteristics indicated by the section number and the corresponding call number before registering for courses. Should you have any questions about a particular section please contact the instructor or department.

Honors College section classes (300 series) are restricted to students who have been accepted into the University of North Carolina Wilmington Honors College. The 800 section series are UNC Wilmington Extension Program sections and are offered off-campus.

Please note that the section number indicates both the delivery method of the section as well as any special characteristics of the section.

300 - 325 Honors
326 - 349 Honors lab

Extension Program

800 - 825 Extension - Traditional on-campus class, Online (All instruction delivered via the internet), On-campus technologically enhanced, Information highway (One- or two-way video, classroom-based course)
826 - 849 Extension - lab

Off-Formula

900 - 925 Off-formula - courses that are set up not to pay the traditional tuition rate to the university. Applies to in-state and out-of-state tuition.
926 - 949 Off-formula labs
