Program Cost
UNCW provides information such as program cost, financial aid information, and excursion and special event details for students interested in studying in Mexico.
What Does Fee Include
The cost of the program is $1,850.
This fee includes:
- Room and board (3 meals daily, laundry) with a family in the city of Oaxaca
- Excursions
- Guided tours in Oaxaca
- Supplemental travel health insurance
- Airport pickup and drop-off at the international airport in Oaxaca
- Tuition (for full-time students)
- Health insurance
Not included in the cost of the program are:
- Round-trip airfare (we plan to travel together from Wilmington to Oaxaca but you need to purchase your ticket individually)
- Personal expenditures (souvenirs, snacks, etc.)

Financial Aid
The course taught during the program is considered a spring course at UNCW, and thus students are encouraged to apply for and use financial assistance, including scholarships.

Excursions and Special Events
In order to offer a wider perspective of Oaxacan life, the program includes excursions to sites of historical and cultural interest, including trips to Teotitlán del Valle, Mitla, Hierve el Agua, and Monte Albán.
Also included is a day-trip to two villages with the non-profit En Via. These activities are included in the price of the program.
