Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) measures basic essential skills in the academic content areas of reading, mathematics, science, English, and language usage. The test is intended primarily for use by applicants to adult nursing programs. The objectives assessed on the TEAS exam are those that nurse educators deemed most appropriate and relevant for measuring the entry-level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.

Valid ID Required

A valid, government-issued, photo ID with a signature is required.

How to Register

Before the exam date, the candidate should create an ATI account. This account will be needed for the exam. UNCW students can find further information on the Nursing program's TEAS Admissions Test: Prelicensure page.

When scheduling the exam through RegisterBlast, you can choose 8AM or 1PM. If you have been approved for an accommodation for extended time, please schedule your exam at 8AM. Please contact us if you need to schedule for a different time, or if you have any questions.

Cost

Registration for the TEAS exam is $146 and non-refundable. This covers both the exam cost and the hourly proctoring fee. Exam length is approximately 3.5 hours.

Parking

If you are not a UNCW student, faculty or staff member, you can use the Visitor Lot located off Riegel Road and Price Drive (near the intramural fields).
