Spring 2019 Programs Coming Soon!

Saturday Morning Marine Explorers returns!  Join our MarineQuest staff for Saturday mornings filled with exciting scientific fun at the UNCW Center for Marine Science.  Each month we focus on a different theme as we get hands-on to explore sea creatures, marine habitats and ocean phenomena through lab experiments, field activities, games, art and more.  Click here for our code of conductExperience first-hand what it's like to be a true Marine Explorer!

  • Ages 7-10 - and Completed 1st Grade

  • 9:00am-12:00pm - One Saturday a Month

  • $18 per Person per Session

Notes to Participants - Please send your child with his/her own light and healthy snack and drink for snack time.  Due to allergies please avoid snacks with peanuts.

Hang 10 and barrel in for this tubular morning learning all about the waves in the sea! What creates the perfect wave? Get hands on with our wave tank to observe and identify the different parts of a wave, and learn how rogue waves get to be 100 feet tall! Grab your wetsuits and hop on board for a crash course in surf from tiny crests to giant tsunamis.

Join MarineQuest to celebrate the Mammas of the sea.  Ever wonder how sea creature families raise their young?  Some moms protect them as eggs while others stay with offspring for several years.  Making sure their babies are fed, happy, and safe from predators is the goal of the marvelous marine mammas.  Do you know someone like that?
