PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Turtle-Trek-Circle.png

Did you know that today’s sea turtle taxonomical order date back to about 220 million years ago?  Join MarineQuest as we embark on a Turtle Trek through time and space to study some of the ocean’s most threatened species. Explore the sea turtle life cycle and follow the great migrations they undertake seasonally to feed, mate, and nest. Learn how scientists track and monitor turtles as they swim about the ocean. Investigate climate change and the potential threat of sea level rise and increased temperatures pose for the beaches where turtles nest. Discover efforts sea turtle enthusiasts and scientists make to protect these species.
