Why did you study Spanish?

Since high school I knew I had a passion for Spanish. After researching schools and comparing programs, I decided on UNCW because of their Spanish Conversation Center. I read about the opportunity to practice conversing outside of class and I knew this was the right fit for me.

How do you use Spanish now?

I have used Spanish in so many ways. After completing my thesis research in Chile, I decided to move there, an experience for which I will forever be grateful. The language allowed me to form friendships and have an experience that truly made me grow as a person. Currently, I am a Spanish professor at the College of Charleston and use Spanish every day to enlighten and enrich the lives of others.
