Why did you study Spanish?

I studied Spanish because I realized the doors that it can open for myself and others in the community. As the American population is continuously diversifying, it is important that we continue to evolve in order to provide a community that is open and supportive to people from all cultural backgrounds.

How do you use Spanish now?

I am currently in the MA History program at UNCW. I will use Spanish to give me a broader understanding of the international relations that the United States has had with South and Central American countries in the past. I also continue to volunteer when I can with students who are new to the Wilmington area that predominantly speak Spanish.
