Stories of UNCW Spanish Alumni

Elizabeth Motolinia Spanish BA, Class of 2016

Why did you study Spanish?

I wanted to be able to broaden the group of people that I would be able to communicate and work with.

How do you use Spanish now?

Since graduating, I've lived and worked abroad in Spain, Colombia, Mozambique, received my Master degree in California, and now live in Washington, DC where I'm currently working with Environmental Incentives. I am a Junior Associate, working to improve the performance of development projects across the globe. Not only am I fortunate enough to be able to use my Spanish frequently in life, but I am very fortunate to have the skills to work with people across the globe. Spanish was also a great segue to many other languages! Mastering Portuguese is next on the list.
