Instructor-Led Virtual Training through the Dare to Learn Academy

ITS offers a variety of training and development course opportunities, including Banner 9, Office 365, SharePoint Online, PowerPoint, Excel and more. Below are course descriptions for some of our most popular courses:

  • Introduction to SharePoint Online: SharePoint Online is a cloud-based service that helps organizations share and manage knowledge and content. As UNCW transitions from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint Online, users can attend this introductory course to learn how to access and utilize UNCW SharePoint sites.

  • Introduction to Microsoft Teams: Learn about Microsoft Teams, a collaborative experience that brings together people, conversations and content, along with the tools that teams need to be productive.

  • Microsoft OneDrive for Business: An introduction to OneDrive for Business is followed by a question and answer session.

  • Advanced Microsoft Teams-Tips and Features: This advanced class on Microsoft Teams focuses on advanced features to enhance your experience. NOTE: Introduction to Microsoft Teams is a prerequisite for this course.

  • Introduction to Microsoft Excel: In this introductory Microsoft Excel course, you will learn about the common uses for Excel. We will cover the basics of creating a spreadsheet, entering data and formatting it to meet your needs.

  • Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint: New to PowerPoint? Need a refresher? Register for this Introduction to PowerPoint course that will go over the basics of how to create and format a PowerPoint presentation.

Skillport Computer Based Training, Instructional Videos & Online Books

ITS is pleased to offer Skillport Computer Based Training (CBT) and referenceware to all current UNCW faculty, staff and students.

Skillsoft Learning App

Skillsoft (the company that hosts Skillport) has an app that allows faculty, staff and students access to Skillport content anytime. The app is available in Google Play and the App Store. After the app is downloaded, log in with the following information:

  • UNCW’s Skillport site name:
  • UNCW email credentials for signing in

Note: Assigned learning is not supported by the app at this time.
