Students filling out paperwork on Move-In day

Congratulations on your enrollment to the University of North Carolina Wilmington! The Office of Housing and Residence Life would like to provide you information regarding on-campus living.

Living on campus is an important and exciting part of the college experience where you will meet great people and grow as a part of the UNCW community. UNCW Housing and Residence Life firmly believes that on-campus living strengthens students’ academic performance and social involvement. To learn more about on-campus housing and obtain information regarding our facilities, services, and programs, we strongly encourage you to utilize the information accessible within the UNCW Housing and Residence Life website.

Step 1 – Prepare for your housing application

  • If you have been admitted to UNCW, you may apply for housing starting January 17, 2018 at 10 a.m.
  • You must pay your Admission Enrollment Deposit to the University before you can apply for on-campus housing. Until the enrollment deposit has been paid, you will be unable to access the housing application.
  • You will access the housing application via your Teal Ticket. To access your Teal Ticket, login to mySeaport and click on the Teal Ticket tab. Then, click on the "Fully Contract for On-Campus Housing" link to begin the housing application process.
  • Be ready to supply your personal information, including emergency contacts.

Step 2 – Submit your application

  • Complete and sign your housing agreement online.
  • Pay the $105 housing application fee.  This fee is non-refundable regardless of enrollment.
  • If you are under the age of 18 at the time you submit the housing agreement, you must have a Parent/Guardian co-signature. Your application will not be completed until this co-signature has been submitted.
  • Within the housing application, you’ll be asked to complete a questionnaire used for roommate matching during the assignment process. Please answer these questions as accurately as possible. You may also submit the name of a person with whom you wish to room; however, due to space constraints we cannot always accommodate student requests. Please know that our office does not guarantee any particular building, room, or roommate preferences.
  • If you require a reasonable accommodation that could influence your housing assignment, please contact our Disability Resource Center to submit your Disability Accommodation Request form as soon as possible.

Step 3 – Receive your assignment

  • Most students will receive their assignment prior to the first Orientation session.
  • Once the assignment process is complete, you will receive an email via your UNCW email with instructions on how to view your assignment and roommate information.
  • If for any reason we were unable to fulfil your housing preferences with your initial permanent assignment, you may submit a wish list request for a different roommate or room. The link to this request will be sent out with your housing assignment.  Wish list requests are dependent on space availability and honored on a first-come, first-serve basis. As such, our office cannot guarantee every wish list request will be fulfilled.
  • Housing assignments are made based on housing application completion date.
